The UCSA (United Christian Student Association) had
its humble
beginnings in 1990, just a year after the school opened its doors in
1989. At first it was an exclusive association, which mainly operated in
Afrikaans. In 1994 the first general democratic election were held and
with it there came transformation in the ACSV (The former name of the
UCSA) Because each and every language and culture was equal before the
new constitution, it was decided to change the name to UCSA-an United
Christian Student Association!
Each year the UCSA presents a couple of activities
that the learners thoroughly enjoy. Each year the UCSA gives a change to
the learners to join a certain cell-group. What generally happens is the
following: The cell-leaders (there can be up to 3) decide where his/her
cell-group will meet. Then they will give a lesson about stuff said at
an info-session earlier that week. General the cell-group meeting ends
when the cell-leader starts praying or when he asks one of the members
to pray for them.
There are also camps being held throughout the
year. There are generally two camps a year: one at the beginning of the
year and the second one in September when they go camping with the other
school in Kraaifontein, Eben Dönges.
Apart from the activities listed already, the UCSA also have a
UCSA-week in which there are activities to bring learners closer to
Jesus Christ. It usually ends on the Friday-night with a praise and
worship session. They are also responsible for the organization of a
speaker for MP-period, a special assembly every Wednesday over a
fortnight period.
